The thinking behind Natal Bean is grounded in what we know about children, parents, relationships and the early years

Natal Bean is built on a simple belief: families deserved support that is informed by the best available evidence. We draw on leading research, national guidance and trusted organisations to help shape the environments, partnerships and support we create for families. As our own model develops, we also want to listen, learn and contribute to a better understanding of what helps parents flourish and children thrive.
* The earliest years matter because the foundations laid during pregnancy and early childhood can have lasting effects on children's health, development and wellbeing.
* Responsive, nurturing relationships with parents and caregivers play a fundamental role in children's development.
* Supporting parents wellbeing, confidence and relationship helps create the conditions in which children can thrive.
*Social connection and supportive communities can help reduce isolation and strengthen family wellbeing.
*Making help accessible before difficulties escalate can improve families' experiences and potentially reduce the need for more intensive intervention later.
*Early childhood development
*Parent Infant relationship
*Parent wellbeing
*Community and prevention
Natal Bean at Hopscotch gives us an opportunity to understand how families use an integrated community model in practice - what they value, what helps them connect and what makes support easier to access.
We intend to learn from families, partners and our own impact data as the model develops, and to share what we learn openly.
We are always interested in conversations that can help strengthen our understanding, evidence and impact. If you're a researcher, academic, professional or organisation interested in Natal Bean, our developing model, or opportunities to collaborate, we'd love to hear from you.
